The advanced ABA 4 now detects pedestrians moving up to 80 meters in front of the vehicle in almost all traffic situations, in addition to vehicles in front and stationary obstacles (such as a jam end). If the specified distance is dangerously undershot and an accident is unavoidable with unchanged driving style, the system alerts the driver. If this does not react, the system automatically triggers full braking.
